URGENT & IMPORTANT ISSUES
First A.I.M. San Diego Meeting In Many Months

Dec 15th, it was good to see everyone again. Especially the old Chapter members. The large gathering proves that AIM San Diego is alive and well while the strong arm tactics of the former controversial leadership is gone.  The spiritual ceremonies were long overdue while the camaraderie help build new relationships with direction as a renewed chapter.  This was a spiritual and social gathering while new business and officer elections were deferred until next meeting. Much thanks to the AIM leadership for their full support.

Marty Fire Rider Receives Lakota Ceremonies

A Chief of the Spiritual Medicine Circle from Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota held a Naming Ceremony and a Tokala Ceremony for Marty Firerider. His Lakota name is "He Who Rides The Fire:, (Elaya Kayaka Hokshela). As an Northern Ontario Ojibwe and a former combat decorated U.S. Marine, Marty was very honored and humble to have received these Lakota spiritual ceremonies.

Because of the close relationship some of the pages on this A.I.M. San Diego web site will take you to the Riverside A.I.M. Chapter web site.  The back space key will bring you back to A.I.M. San Diego.

AIM San Diego Members Reorganize Chapter to Remove Corrupt Leadership.

The new leadership plans to have a Council of leaders but with no one person in charge. After the previous oligarchy one family rule it was felt that we return to our traditional council. A meeting and sweat lodge will be held soon and all old and new members will be notified.

New East San Diego County Chapter?

Despite the leadership breakup we want to thank the many new members from the east San Diego county reservation for joining AIM. Due to the AIM San Diego is made up of all urban Indians and their leadership crisis many are calling for a new AIM East San Diego Chapter to deal with Rez issues. A new chapter is always welcomed and would accommodate the large county divided by mountains. San Diego AIM is glad to see a new AIM chapter and will assist in any way we can.

AIM RIVERSIDE CHAPTER FIRST MEETING DEC 3RD 12 NOON

RAMONA TRIBAL OFFICE, ANZA, CALIFORNIA

AIM Riverside Web Site (Check It Out) www.aimriverside.org

AIM Riverside began organizing this week. Thanks to all those who have contributed to the growth of the AIM Movement in Southern California. With strong individuals and the sovereign tribal governments offering support this is a positive step toward Indian Unity.

"The American Indian Movement is a spiritual catalyst for Indian Unity. That Unity day for our people is coming. One day we will all walk as one and speak as one Indian voice. Then we will have the power to change not only the adversarial relationship Indian people have with the government & BIA. But, we will change America as we know it for the better. Let the healing begin."

Marty Firerider, Chairman of The Board
